Welcome to Compline (Night Prayer) as we keep the Holy Day of St. Thomas the Apostle.
Our readings, for the Holy Day, are:
  Psalm 126
  Hebrew 10:35 -- 11:1
  John 20:24-29
(Habakkuk 2:1-4 is a listed alternate reading if you'd like to read that also)

Our Evening Hymn is ‘Abide With Me’ (CP # 24) played by Holmes Drummond:
      Abide with me: fast falls the eventide;
  the darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
  When other helpers fail, and comforts flee,
  help of the helpless, O abide with me.
      Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
  earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
  change and decay in all around I see;
  O thou, who changest not, abide with me.
      I need thy presence every passing hour;
  what but thy grace can foil the tempter’s power?
  Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be?
  Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
      I fear no foe with thee at hand to bless;
  ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
  Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
  I triumph still, if thou abide with me.
      Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
  shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies;
  heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
  In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

As we reflect on the readings we listen to ‘By All Your Saints Still Striving’ (CP# 283 with verse 2n, tune Aurelia)  played by Holmes Drummond:
      By all your saints still striving,
  for all your saints at rest,
  your holy name, O Jesus,
  for evermore be blessed.
  You rose, our King victorious,
  that they might wear the crown
  and ever shine in splendour
reflected from your throne.
      All praise, O Lord, for Thomas
  whose short-lived doubtings prove
  your perfect twofold nature,
  the depth of your true love.
  To all who live with questions,
  a steadfast faith afford;
  and grant us grace to know you,
  made flesh, yet God and Lord.
      Then let us praise the Father
  and worship God the Son
  and sing to God the Spirit,
  eternal Three-in-One,
  till all the ransomed number
  who stand before the throne,
  ascribe all power and glory
  and praise to God alone.
