In this tutorial I demonstrate how to build a flower bouquet and place it into a cake in a food safe way.

To really ensure that you are 100% food safe, you might even plant a small paper based disk under the flowers so the petals do not make contact with the cake. But even at work and at other professional bakeries, the flowers are topped onto the cake without any problems. Some plant the flowers into the cake with just the floral tape around the stem, and I think this is fine too. But if you aren't comfortable with any of those, then this is a great alternative.
