It doesn't take a lot to break or damage any electronic item. It's best to stay covered and protected and especially if your device costs as much as most Apple products do!
We all know how expensive Apple products can be, and it hurts even more when you have to pay for their repair when you break or damage them. And so getting AppleCare+ should honestly be the first thing you should do when you get any Apple product.
How much does AppleCare+ cost?
Typically, they cost about 20% more than the price of the product you are buying. But considering the price of most Apple products and even more, consdering the repair costs of damaged Apple products - paying the 20% upfront and staying covered for 2 years with unlimited damage cover is a very sweet deal.
How do you get AppleCare+?
You can get AppleCare+ either at the time of buying an Apple product or within 60 days of purchasing.
If you're already beyond 60 days of purchase date and you did not get AppleCare+, then you cannot get it any longer.
Do you have to pay anything extra later despite having AppleCare+?
AppleCare+ works like Insurance. And like most insurance claims, you don't have to pay the majority of the cost but may be a tony portion of it to cover administrative fees or service fees. In case of AppleCare+, that fees depends on the nature of damage and the kind of product. But it still is a lot cheaper than the full cost of repair that you may have to incur.
Can you claim AppleCare+ anywhere?
Mostly, yes. Of course, there are regional constraints but for most popular products you should be well covered internationally.
