Say This During an Exit Interview

So What should you say in an Exit Interview?

When you resign from your position and move on, HR likes to conduct an interview to ask you things like

Where are you going?

How much are you going to be paid?

What did you like or dislike about working here?

What would you improve in our company?

Who should we keep an eye on?

So how do you answer these questions?

YOU DON’T.

NEVER EVER EVER sit for an exit interview. These interviews are NOT for you. HR is NOT your friend - they are there to protect the company. Anything you say in one of these interviews could be recorded and if you ever decide to come back to the company they could be held against you.

And if you are keen to spill some tea about co-workers to HR, just remember these people could someday be your customer, or - worse - your boss.

So don’t sit for an exit interview. Politely decline and keep your tea to yourself.
