Akshat Jalan is an IIT Bombay grad with 13 years of work experience from Gurugram, India. He currently works as a Group Manager. He uses technology every day to improve the performance of his team and deliver valuable solutions to his clients. So, while the hype around blockchain & crypto was extraordinary, Akshat was finding it difficult to understand the new technology. With the aim of understanding the technology and pursuing a career in blockchain to develop some of his own blockchains, he enrolled in the Professional Certificate Program in Blockchain offered by Simplilearn in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. He found this course on social media and it has been a fulfilling experience for him. This course has helped him to be more confident at work about his understanding of technology and in supporting his clients and business to adopt new technologies like Blockchain and Web3.

What does your professional journey look like?
I am an IIT Bombay grad with 13 years of work experience, primarily in General Management roles. I work as a Group Manager where the use of technology in solving complex problems is a part of day-to-day work. Having closely worked with CXOs of various organizations, I understand corporate decision-making and risk management processes well. This has also led me to develop an innate knack for identifying & execute high-priority and high-impact work streams. Before my current company, I worked with various other organizations. In the near future, I want to engage with new-age businesses professionally and develop more technology-driven solutions.
Why did you choose to upskill yourself?
While the hype around blockchain & crypto was extraordinary, I was finding it difficult to get my head around understanding how and why this technology was being put on a pedestal. With the aim of understanding the technology and pursuing a career in blockchain to develop some of my own blockchains, I enrolled in the Professional Certificate Program in Blockchain offered by Simplilearn in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. This course was my opportunity to understand the basics of blockchain, and the live projects were a definite attraction.
