Doctor Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is the last human being to escape an epidemic that has turned other men and women into vampires. For the past three years, all his days have looked the same: by day, the vampires, who fear the sunlight, rest, while Morgan, armed with wooden stakes, roams the city, spotting the refuges of the undead weakened like zombies, impales them and then burns their bodies at the dump. At night, he takes refuge in his house, where mirrors and garlic are hung, which vampires cannot stand. From time to time, he tries to communicate with a possible other unaffected human being using a radio, but always without success.
