VN24 - 12/02/2022 - Holzwickede A1 / Germany - Unbelievable luck had the two occupants in this passenger car SEAT, when they were literally squeezed between two trucks at the end of a traffic jam on the A1 freeway. They survived this terrible accident like by a miracle. Shortly before 7:00 p.m., the 40-year-old tractor-trailer driver was traveling northbound on the A1 freeway in his truck and apparently realized too late that traffic had to slow down to a standstill at the end of a traffic jam a few kilometers before the Dortmund / Unna interchange. According to witnesses, he drove onto the stationary traffic almost without braking and pressed a passenger car with two occupants under the trailer of an articulated truck in front of it. Even this was pressed by the force of the impact still on a further passenger car Ford, which was substantially damaged. In the SEAT, the 40-year-old female driver and the 28-year-old passenger were massively trapped and injured. In a rescue operation that lasted for hours, fire department forces had to cut the persons out of the sheet metal. To do this, the rear truck first had to be pulled back with winches and the front truck lifted with a crane. Both occupants were still treated on site by the rescue service and were then taken to hospital. Police say that the 28-year-old passenger was able to leave the hospital after only a few days. According to new information from the police, the 40-year-old female driver will also survive this horror accident.
