Hello and welcome! In this video I use a woodturning lathe to make a simple bowl from scrap oak as an easy wood turning project for beginners.
I start by marking the centre for drilling a hole to mount the piece on a worm screw on the lathe.
Rounding the blank, shaping the sides and forming a tenon using a 3/8ths bowl gouge, followed by a little sanding. I then remounted it the using the tenon and hollowed the bowl with the same gouge as before, followed by a little more sanding.
Removed from the lathe, applied my makers mark and thats a wrap.
