Fitting out our self-built narrowboat all in one timelapse! If you’re new to the channel, we’re Jack and Gabby. We bought this narrowboat shell in autumn 2022 and we’ve been transforming her into our fully electric off-grid home. This timelapse shows everything we’ve done in the last six or so months, in just over ten minutes!
We’re almost there. This is our narrowboat build so far.

We're Jack and Gabby. Since 2019 we've lived an alternative lifestyle travelling the canals of the UK.
Truthfully, we had wanted to find a slower, more simplistic way of life for a while. But, it was a shock redundancy that gave us the final push. We stumbled across boatlife and haven't looked back since.
Living on a narrowboat is not without its challenges. For example, the lifestyle is fully off-grid so we have to manage our resources such as power and water. For us though, boatlife has provided that 'real' life that we were desperately craving.
