The Chengdu-Gar Highway, also known as Highway G317, is a national highway in China. It is also called the Northern Line of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway and a branch line of National Highway 318. It starts in Chengdu, Sichuan and ends in Nagqu, Tibet. It has a mileage of 2,030 kilometers. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the terminus will be extended to Gar County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet.

Li County is located on the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and in the southeast of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. It borders Maoxian and Heishui in the northeast, Xiaojin in the southwest, Wenchuan in the southeast, and Ma'erkang and Hongyuan in the northwest. It is 202 kilometers away from the provincial capital Chengdu and 193 kilometers away from the prefecture capital Ma'erkang. The county seat is 1,888 meters above sea level and has a total area of 4,318 square kilometers.
