In this video I discuss
In this video I discuss how to make your floor look like raw, unfinished wood.
We do this by using Blanchon Intensiv Bare Timber. You can also use Loba Invisible Protect AT, Pallmann Pure, Bona Traffic HD Naturale and I am sure there are a ton of others.
First you must sand back the floor, removing all the old finish, uv damage, scratches, dents and other signs of wear and tear. Bring it up to a nice smooth finish, around 120 grit, as I show in my other videos and on my website. Then use a "raw effect" lacquer. These lacquers do have some considerations that it is worth taking into account.
So many of my customers, over the years, have said that they wish they could "keep their floors just like this," once we have sanded off a layer of wood. I would then have to inform them that its not possible, no matter what we put on the surface, its going to change the colour and appearance of the wood. Until now!
Over the past few years, many lacquer manufacturers have developed this breed of lacquers that give the floor the appearance of being unfinished. They do this with a light whitening pigment and an extremely low sheen finish. The results speak for themselves! I hope you like my video, if so click like and subscribe!
