They remain amongst the most shocking crimes in British history. Between 1978 and 1983, serial killer Dennis Nilsen killed at least twelve young men, and flushed their dissection remains down the toilet. As his crimes are set to be retold in a new ITV drama ‘Des’, we’re taking a behind-the-scenes look with David Tennant. The drama series is set to be sinister enough, but the true story is far more shocking. Criminologist Professor David Wilson, met Dennis Nilson several times during his career as a prison governor. He joins us today to take us inside the mind of the killer he once knew, and share his thoughts on the dramatisation.
