Russia - Mafia Killings Mourned

Top Russian politicians and businessmen paid their last respects
Tuesday (8/8) to influential banker Ivan Kivelidi, poisoned along
with his secretary. Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin, Moscow
Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and other dignitaries joined a dozen members of
his family for the ceremony.  Dozens of floral wreaths were
sent to the ceremony and businessmen there said the family had
received more than 200 telegrams of condolence from President
Boris Yeltsin and business leaders across Russia.  Kivelidi, 46, was the head of the Rosbiznesbank and the Russian Roundtable, the country's
most influential business organization.
