In this quick tutorial, I show an easy way to fix the problem of overheating in your laptop without taking it apart. This would help especially if you’re into gaming or graphics design. Here I show how you can modify your processor settings to optimize on its performance and energy consumption which normally translates into overheating.
1. First, you need to check that your graphics card driver is properly installed and updated.
2. Then check your power plan to ensure it is on balanced mode.
3. Reduce the minimum processor state to 2 or 3%.
4. Change the cooling policy on the battery to active.
5. Set the maximum processor state to 70 or 80%.
After changing these settings, remember to click on apply and then ok, to implement them. Then you can restart your laptop to take them to effect.
