Not many people are aware
Not many people are aware of this YouTube channel, but it is very much possible that it is the best YouTube channel on the internet. Why do we say so? That's because @LevitovChess has accounts from the best players in the world of the most important moments of their chess career. For eg. Garry Kasparov talks about his chess journey in a series that lasts for 24 hours. Kramnik talks about his victory against Kasparov in 2000 and his loss to Anand in 2008. There is so much more content on this channel. All of it in Russian, but now slowly a lot of it has been converted into English subtitles.
Why was Ilya Levitov, the founder of this channel investing so heavily into chess. And why was he providing such high quality content free to the chess world? In this video we speak to Ilya and talk about his journey in chess - how he began playing, how he became the executive director of Russian Chess Federation, how he put together the Levitov Chess Week and finally his vision behind creating the YouTube channel.
