Throwback to a warm summer
Throwback to a warm summer afternoon, deep in a remote canyon on the middle Deschutes river, fishing my 10' 6" #4 (conversion Rod) Trout spey with a OPST Commando Smooth 175 grain with an OPST 10' floating micro spey tip and 8 feet long, level mono leader with a short tippet. Dry fly fishing with an elk hair caddis.
This is a very easy line to cast and shoots nicely with the Commando Smooth integrated shooting line. This might be a pretty good way to dry fly fish with Chubby Chernobyls, Elk hair Caddis, Salmon Flies, or Skaters for Summer Steelhead.
My preference is mono running line with an OPST Commando head but if your looking for an integrated running line that allows you to strip the head into the guides without feeling the bothersome clunking of the head as it is stripped into the guides this is a good one!
