The short answer is that there is NO difference between multimedia designers and digital designers. But depending on the job you want you will need to understand how to communicate as a multimedia designer vs a digital designer. Some agencies will be searching for a multimedia designer while other will be looking for a digital media designer.
Well the what is multimedia design?
Both roles will focus on multiple expressions of design and media in the digital format.
You will need to have competencies in Graphic Design, photography, videography, video editing, social media posts/designs, and the list continues to grow.
One of the best tips I am constantly sharing with up and coming designers about what skills they need to build is this!...
Get on you favorite job hosting site, or go to the company website where you wish design. Look at the available positions and check the requirements for that position. Now start to build your skills to embody that role!
If you build skills according to what they are looking for and you create a portfolio of work that will fit their needs than you will have a far better shot at receiving the job!
Like I said early Multimedia designers vs Digital media designers, there is nearly zero difference between the two. What is important is having the ability to communicate intelligently about your skills and abilities to serve the company you desire to work with.
