IRAN - Tehran Yalda Night Pomegranate Festival in ab o atash park
Since ancient times, Yalda night has been a symbol of the victory of light over darkness for the people of Iran. The people of ancient Iran believed that darkness and light or evil and good fight together on the night of Yalda, and after the victory, the light will rise again in the morning. Therefore, Yalda is a symbol of love, kindness, light and sun for Iranians.
The night of Yalda was recorded in the calendar of Iranians since the time of Darius I, about 500 years before Christ, and since then, this ceremony has been performed with great enthusiasm. There are different philosophies about Yalda night. Some are of the opinion that Yalda is the night of the victory of light over darkness, and others know this night as the "birthday of Mitra" or the "Goddess of the Sun". Anyway, this night has existed among Iranians since the distant past and is still known as a night for being together, happiness and hope.
از زمان های دور شب یلدا برای مردم ایران نماد پیروزی روشنایی بر تاریکی بود. مردم ایران باستان بر این باور بودند که در شب یلدا تاریکی و روشنایی یا بدی و خوبی به ستیز با هم می پردازند و بعد از پیروزی روشنایی صبح آفتاب دوباره طلوع می کند. از همین رو یلدا برای ایرانی ها نماد عشق، محبت، روشنایی و خورشید است.
شب یلدا از زمان داریوش یکم، یعنی حدود ۵۰۰ سال پیش از میلاد مسیح، در تقویم ما ایرانی ها ثبت شد و از آن زمان با شوق و اشتیاق زیادی این مراسم اجرا می شد. در مورد شب یلدا فلسفه های مختلفی وجود دارد. برخی بر این عقیده هستند که یلدا شب پیروزی نور بر تاریکی است و برخی دیگر این شب را به عنوان شب «تولد میترا» یا «الهه خورشید» می شناسند. به هر حال این شب از گذشتگان دور در میان ایرانی ها وجود داشته و تا به امروز به عنوان شبی برای دور هم بودن، شادی و امیدواری شناخته می شود
