About 12 years ago, back In 2011 (really, that long?) I first played a Zelda game - Twilight princess. It was truly a groundbreaking experience for me, the music, atmosphere and artistic direction had me hooked. I explored each and every corner of Hyrule, transported into this mysterious, wonderful and immersive world. Whenever I listen to the music from the game now it brings me back to those days sitting in front of my old CRT tv, wii-mote in hand, saving the kingdom of Hyrule.
Since then I have played my way through various 3d Zelda games, each game an artistic masterpiece. The effort the developers put into the sound design for these games is incredible, and one of the reasons it has such a profound and memorable effect on so many people.
About a year ago I began work on a Zelda cover album. Taking my favourite and most nostalgic tracks from the games, and reimagining them. I experimented with unique sounds and ambience, as well as various textures to create something which feels nostalgic whilst maintaining a fresh feel. I put a lot of effort into the final mix for the album, and there are even a few easter eggs dotted here and there - see if you can find them!
SO!! Feel free to put your headphones on and sit back, relax, sleep, or study as you are transported into the Legend of Zelda, and the Kingdom of Hyrule!
