Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, often referred to as Hahn Airport, is an international airport located in Hahn, a town in the Rhein-Hunsrück district of Germany. Despite its name, it is not actually located in Frankfurt, but rather approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) west of Frankfurt.
Frankfurt-Hahn Airport was originally a military airbase before being converted into a commercial airport in the early 1990s. It primarily serves as a low-cost carrier hub and is often used by airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air for their flights to and from Frankfurt. It is also a prominent cargo airport as a result of its location and 24-hour operating licence
