With the Queen watching at London's Royal Variety Show at the Palladium November 1989 (and you will see him nod to the Queen when something goes wrong) Freddie says to the audience:-
How dare people come out on stage and mime to songs and not sing their song live on stage, They have a man stand behind the curtain with a tape machine, he flicks it on and the music comes through the speakers and you think it's the artists singing and it's not, they're miming.....CHEATS!!! Ladies and Gentleman, I'd like to sing you a beautiful song now, It's called "Vincent" - and with a look out the back behind the curtain he says very quietly "TAPES!:"
