We are Invited For Lhori
We are Invited For Lhori Snack and tried Pani Puri or some Indian call Gol Gappe for the FIRST TIME today !! Locals said Pani Puri is the most popular indian snack, most loved by Indians, so we can't help but try it out ! Not only pani puri or gol gappe, we also got invited by local to try some Lohri snack as well ! It's only been one day in India, and we are already falling in love with food, people and culture here in India, Can't wait to share more experience with you all !
☼ M E N T I O N E D :
⇢ Lohri is a popular winter time Punjabi folk festival, celebrated primarily by Sikhs and Hindus from the Punjab region in the northern part of Indian subcontinent. The significance and legends about the Lohri festival are many and these link the festival to the Punjab region.Many people believe the festival commemorates the passing of the winter solstice. Lohri marks the end of winter season, and is a traditional welcome of longer days and sun's journey to the northern hemisphere by Sikhs and Hindus in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. It is observed the night before Makar Sankranti, also known as Maghi, and according to the solar part of the lunisolar Bikrami calendar and typically falls about the same date every year
⇢ Pani Puri ( Gol Gappe ) It consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water (commonly known as imli pani), tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion or chickpeas. Modern chefs, eager to take their culinary expertise to the next level, have come up with interesting variations to the Gol Gappa like the Cucumber Pani Puri, in which cucumber juice is used to fill up the puris
