Horizontal lines in Microsoft Word
Horizontal lines in Microsoft Word helps to separate sections in a document. There are many ways to insert a line in the documents. Watch the steps shown in this video to see how we can do it.
1. Click anywhere in your document to insert a line from the Home tab and click on the Horizontal line under the Paragraph section.
2. Select the Line to format it and double click on it.
3. In the Format Horizontal Line window, you can set the width, color, Height, Alignment of the line then click on OK.
4. Let's try the second option to insert a line.
5. Place the cursor in the document and Go to the Insert Tab.
6. Click on Shapes, and select a line then draw it in the document.
7. Select this line and under the Format tab, click on Shape Outline.
8. You can set the required Weight, Line Style like Dashes, Color of the line.
9. You can quickly insert a line while type in the word document as steps are showing.
10. Number third option is very easy to insert a line while typing, place a cursor where you want to insert the line.
11. If you will type Three times hyphens (---) and press enter on your keyboard, this will insert a single line.
12. When you type Three times equal signs (===) and press enter on your keyboard, this will insert a Double line.
13. When you type Three times number signs (###) and press enter on your keyboard then this will insert a thick line.
14. To insert dotted, just type Three times asterisks (***) and press enter on your keyboard.
15. To insert a Tilde line, type Three times Tildes (~~~) and press enter on your keyboard. See, this is the very easiest way to insert the line in the document.
