Temples in Egypt were sacred
Temples in Egypt were sacred space, therefore there could not be anything that defiled them, and that's why the priests shave themselves every other day, to avoid lice. So the plague of lice was essentially Yahweh crippling the worship of the false gods of Egypt. It's a real slap in the face. Check this out!
