Astronaut Eugene Cernan - the last man to walk on the moon - has died aged 82. 'We are saddened by the loss of retired NASA astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon,' said NASA in a statement. The last flight to bring humans to the Moon, Apollo 17, touched down in December 1972 where Eugene Cernan and fellow scientist Harrison Schmitt became the last men to walk on the moon.
