Toll Like Receptors are Innate immunity receptors for the recognition of pathogens in innate immunity. Toll like receptors are also commonly referred to as Pattern Recognition Receptors (PRRs) or PAMPs (Pathogen associated Molecular patterns). These Innate immunity receptors recognize certain patterns in pathogens like Lipopolysaccharides and Teichoic acid, commonly known as PAMPs (Pathogen associated Molecular patterns). In this video lecture we talk about discovery of toll like receptors, structure of Toll like receptors and the various types of Toll like receptors, which are found in humans. This video also explain about the ligands of the human TLR family along with their locations. TLRs are commonly found on the surface of innate immunity cells like macrophages and Dendritic cells and therefore they are aptly called Innate Immunity receptors.
This video by Genesis academy Delhi is how TLRs (Toll like receptors) function as PRRs and what are the cell types on which they are expressed. This concise concept video is made for teaching under-graduate and graduate students by Genesis Academy Delhi.
