Clyde Wyncham, also known as the Marquis of Death, is a unique individual in his reality as he is the only known mutant in his universe. He possesses the ability to alter reality, a power that manifested at a young age when he brought his father back to life. However, this event led to permanent brain damage after his mother struck him in the head in fear. As a result, he was institutionalized and spent his time reading Marvel comics. When the nurses took his comics away, he utilized his powers to bring the Marvel characters into his reality. The government attempted to conceal the incident and the Marvel characters offered to return him to their reality. Reed Richards, from the Fantastic Four, had Clyde placed in a holding cell in Area 87 and developed a cybernetic helmet to keep him out of trouble and provide him with an eternal state of pleasant dreams.
