Easiest Way to Drain Fuel on a Jeep Cherokee

I needed to drain my fuel out of my 88 Cherokee to do some fuel pump work. I tried siphoning initially but I couldn't get the siphon tube into the tank and was just sucking air. I believe there is a bend or flange in the filler pipe that was holding me back.

So, my plan B was to disconnect the fuel line near the fuel filter and jump the pump and have it do the work for me. Thanks for Nick in Time Films for this idea, it worked great.

You just need a paper clip or jumper wire of some sort, and stick it between the output terminals on the fuel pump relay on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Just make sure to disconnect the jumper before the fuel is completely drained to avoid burning out your pump.
