Ballistics gel testing the 168gr
Ballistics gel testing the 168gr ABLR shot out of a 30-06 Springfield, reduced load simulating longer range and at high velocity. Low velocity bullet had a retained weight of 140.5 and the high velocity was 110.5
Good overall performance even though they will not perform down to the 1300 fps rating Nosler gives them. For some reason the 30 caliber ABLR bullets I have tested like 1700 fps or more to have controlled expansion 100% of the time and the 6.5/.264 bullets do work down close to Noslers ratting.
I use the 168gr ABLR's in both my 308 Winchester and and 30-06 Springfield, the 210gr in my 300 Winchester Magnum, and the 142gr in my 6.5 Creedmoor. I have been very happy with them.
