Stars from three of New York’s premiere dance companies—Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, and New York City Ballet—celebrate the world’s most iconic living choreographer Twyla Tharp.
Three duets from the pioneering artist’s archive including the folk-infused CORNBREAD, the never-before-seen SECOND DUET, and the classical and humorous PERGOLESI, share the stage with the world premiere of ALL IN. For this inspiring finale, the principal dancers are joined by an ensemble of young performers, the next generation to glory in Tharp’s genius. Orchestral collective The Knights provide live musical accompaniment to Tharp’s signature movement in this once-in-a-lifetime event.
