Located an hour north of Takayama is the sleepy village of Suganuma. This sleepy little village nestled in central Japan embodies all that is old rural Japan. Next stop is the historic village area of Shirakawago that has the largest collection of Edo period Gassho Zukuri farm houses. We enjoy our included Japanese Bento Lunch before exploring the beautiful village below. Returning to Takayama that afternoon we take our final walk through of Takayama old town district.
