Many people think worldliness is
Many people think worldliness is just about our actions - who we hang out with, where we go, and what we do. But it actually starts in our hearts and shows in three main ways:
⦁ Lust of the Flesh - Always wanting to satisfy physical desires.
⦁ Lust of the Eyes - Always wanting more things and being materialistic.
⦁ Pride of Life - Being obsessed with our status and importance.
When the serpent tempted Eve, he used these tactics, and the devil did the same with Jesus in the wilderness. But God values self-control, generosity, and humble service.
We can avoid worldly pleasures on the outside but still desire them in our hearts. We might look good, but inside, we crave the same things. Like Jesus, we should love sinners and spend time with them while staying true to God's values. Reflect on this: Do your actions reflect the world's values or God's values?
Our craving for possessions and sinful pleasures blinds us to their temporary nature. The allure of material things can make us forget that they will one day pass away. It’s hard to believe in eternal life when we're tempted by immediate desires.
While the world and its allure will fade, those who align with God's will step into an eternity of joy and peace. This divine promise invites us to focus on the eternal rather than the temporary, finding true fulfillment in God's love.
