How to Write Letters | Letter Formation | Letter Formation Paint Activities | KS1 | Learn to Write Want to teach your children how to write letters while making it fun? One of the practical methods we like using is paint inside of a plastic bag which is easy, fun and perfect for improving fine motor skills. There are different letter formation activities for kids with easy to get resources as well as those affordable ones. One of the different resources that you will most probably find at your place is the paint and that is the main thing needed for this activity along with the plastic bag that seals at the top in order to make sure that the paint will not get outside and ruin the whole place. In the plastic bag, start with pouring some of the paint inside - but make sure you are not putting more than the needed for the activity to succeed - and then seal the plastic bag correctly in order to start spreading the paint inside without having it coming out of the bag and ruining everything. The process of spreading the paint inside the bag could be done by the parents or the teachers - depending on where you are and who are you teaching this to - and it could be also left for the kids to try and practice which in this case will be good for enhancing their fine motor skills while using their hands and fingers in spreading the paint around in the bag. Make sure you have a pen with a kind of pointed end in order to let the kids use it in the process of learning to write down the letters. Once the paint is spread inside the plastic bag, the kids could use the pen they have to write the letters which will be done through leaving spaces within the spread paint - that's why it would be better to have a white sheet under the plastic bag to let the letters shine when traced. The best thing about using this activity for learning letter formation is that kids will not need an eraser to erase what they have written if they are using a pencil on a piece of paper or even just keep using other papers to write more if they are using a pen, but instead they will easily and simply use their fingers to spread the paint once again inside the plastic bag so that they could write once again. This is a fun and interesting activity for learning letter formation and at the same time for giving the child the chance to get a little bit creative because they could choose to use one color of paint, mix two colors together, or even use more according to what the parents have to offer them. Letter formation is important so once you choose the activity, you will need to be careful with how to write down the letter itself because showing the kids how the letter should be written will help them to recognize it later on, instead of just trying their own way and never managing to bring the letter in the same correct way every time they try to write it down. There are different letter formation activities that we have on our channel, such a using the pipe cleaner and small pieces of straw to insert in it then start forming the letters with the new decorated pipe cleaner, this is also a nice activity to enhance the fine motor skills for the kids (   • Examples of Fine Motor Skills |Fine M...  ). You could experience how the kids will react to this letter formation activity through the video in which we have tried with James (   • Fun Letter Formation Activities - Lea...  ) which might help you to know how your kids will react to this kind of activity. The other regular activities used to teach kids letter formation include using paint to write on a piece of paper (   • Writing Letter 'e' in English | Phoni...  ), using the Lego blocks to form the letters (   • Writing Letter 't' Lego Activity | En...  ) or even depending on the play-doh which the kids always love to play with in order to create these different letters (   • Play-Doh Learning | Writing Letters w...  ). Enjoy doing this letter formation activity with your child and let them use their creativity in preparing their own paint plastic bag and start writing the different letters. --------
