A helpful pointer is also included on many tape measures for when you are trying to measure height.
Inches on many tape measures have 16 divisions, representing 1/16th's of an inch, and these also represent the 1/8th and 1/4's of an inch. When measuring your height, 1/4 inches are probably precise enough.
Centimetres have 10 divisions, each division representing 1mm.
1 metre = 100cm.
1cm = 10m
General conversion is
1in = 2.54 cm
On celebheights we display the height in feet/inches and full cm's. The lowest fraction used is 1/4 inch, and we only display full centimetre values for celebrities.
