A famous Italian Mathematician Lionardo Fibonacci introduced Fibonacci series to the Europeans after studying Indian Mathematician’s books. After his book, ‘Liber Abaci’, was published in 1202, western countries stopped using roman numeral system for calculations, and opted Hindu-Arabic Numeral System. In this episode of Tarikh we explained why the Fibonacci day should be celebrated in the name of Indian mathematician Pingal too. We also tried to describe why Fibonacci Series is such famous.
