Enhanced Recovery After Surgery for Colorectal Patients

The Colon and Rectal Surgery team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital developed an enhanced recovery surgery program (ERAS) for colorectal patients. The team explains how ERAS has helped reduce the surgical site infection rate and enhance the overall recovery process. Colorectal surgery patients are now walking and eating normal food the day after surgery.
