Today we are taking a look in the inner workings of Lidl's Parkside PKLLP 360 A1 line laser (Kreuzlinienlaser). This Performance-line tool projects a horizontal 360° laser line, and a front vertical line. It has an auto-leveling function of 4° in roll and pitch using a pendulum setup. Li-ion battery powered, it comes with a decent tripod, and serves quite well as a leveling tool for any home renovation work.
The internal mechanism is quite well made, with a magnetic induction brake to eliminate vibration/swinging, an out-of-level warning, and an intricate balancing system of grub screws for the pendulum.
All in all a well designed tool, and I'm most impressed with the magnetically stabilized pendulum motion.
