The equivalent of a category 3 hurricane offshore is set to bring rough surf and gusty winds to the coast, and valley rain on Wednesday. This storm lacks tropical characteristics, but at 959 millibars this is a very strong Pacific storm. Wave heights generally around 20-feet, but occasional heights of 30-feet are not out of the question. Gustiest winds will be along the Coast and Cascade range, near 40 mph at times on Wednesday. Due to onshore flow, coastal flooding is also a possibility around low-lying areas. As far as rainfall goes, not much. This is fast mover and only a quarter of an inch of rain is expected for the valley with just under and inch for the Oregon Coast. Calmer, but cloudy and foggy conditions will briefly return for Thursday and into Friday morning.
