Carbon Composite Fiber Tubes Crushed In Hydraulic Press

In this video I crush carbon composite tubes in the hydraulic press. I first talk a little bit about carbon composites and why they are awesome, but also how they can be weaker than metal in some cases. Then I crush the carbon composite tubes in the hydraulic press. I thought that the carbon composite tubes would just explode as they built up pressure, but they actually just delaminate and peel apart as the press comes down on them. It turned out to look really cool as the press crushed them!
