A step by step guided saxophone lesson on how to play 'Take Five' by Dave Brubeck Quartet.

In this lesson we will break down the melody of the classic jazz tune 'Take Five' first performed by Dave Brubeck quartet. We take each phrase and break it down, playing it at a slow, medium and fast speed. You can follow along with the music for both alto and baritone saxophones on the bottom left of the screen and tenor and soprano saxophones can follow along with the music in the bottom right of the screen. Next you will learn how to clap a clave in 5 and how to sing the melody at the same time, this is essential for learning how play the melody with the backing tracks or with other musicians and feeling more comfortable on the tune. Finally you can practice the Take Five by playing along with the backing track that is at the end of the video.
