We finally saw the long-awaited Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder - a compact SUV co-developed by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. While Suzuki has offered its global C platform and the 1.5-litre K-series engine, Toyota has given its 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TNGA engine with its strong hybrid system. While the non-hybrid/mild hybrid version will come with front wheel drive and all wheel drive options. The strong hybrid version, on the other hand, will be an FWD only with self-charging EV battery capabilities. Transmission options on the mild hybrid will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic, the ones we have seen on the new Brezza.
