Andrew Bartlett - Towards assessment of pharmacy preceptors: A qualitative study of preceptor and preceptee perspectives

The role of the preceptor is to model professional behaviour and provide feedback on preceptee performance and competence. Moreover, the preceptor takes preceptees from theory based learning into an experiential learning environment where the preceptee moves from a novice to an independent professional. Preceptor competencies have been identified in the literature, yet the scope and nature of preceptor competency assessment has yet to be established.
