It’s located in Wilayat of Qurayat
It was formally opened in 2012
and cost OMR 43 million to build it
120 wadis from North Sharqyiah flow into this dam
It has a height around of 75 meters
and a length of over 400 meters
The dam holds about 100 million cubic meters
and provides 35 million cube meter per year
Its is planned to be a major tourist destination in the Sultanate
Around 485,621 tourists visit the dam per year
