Dr Schiano-Phan’s talk explores the impact that people can have on reducing Green House Gas (GHG) emissions in buildings by adopting everyday energy saving strategies and modifying their behaviour. The talk refers to human adaptiveness as a coping mechanism to be rediscovered, and sensory pleasure, health and well-being as motivating factors for bottom up chance. Rosa Schiano-Phan is a researcher and educator devoted to the promotion of environmental design and natural cooling in architecture.
