The Les Paul Goddess is one of the most beautiful, pretty Les Pauls ever made... dare we say "s e x y ?" While this line up was a flop at the time of its release, it was likely due to how it was directly marketed towards Women. Now that these are out of production, the prices have been climbing on these on the second hand market to nearly double their original value for the most desirable colors.
The Goddess was offered in Roseburst (Red,) Violet Burst (purple,) Ebony (Black,) Skyburst (Blue,) and Iceburst (White.) All 5 finishes were offered on both Les Paul and SG body shapes. These also had specially wound 490R, 498T ALNICO pickups with color wiring to compliment the guitars. The face of the headstock also had a color Gibson logo - similar to the later made Widow series.
The Les Paul goddess is 3/16" less deep than a regular les paul and .5" less wide and is chambered to allow for a light weight guitar. It has a maple top, mahogany back and neck and features an ebony fretboard.
These are wonderful guitar. They aren't just for women - but they sure do make your ladies happy too!
