The 1.7-liter turbo diesel for Opel cars was created by Isuzu engineers almost 20 years ago. This engine has evolved from prechamber to common rail injection. Moreover, the fuel injection components for this engine were supplied by Bosch and Denso. However, with the Bosch system, this engine was only offered for the Opel Astra G and Astra H. We disassembled just such an engine - it’s very first version producing 80 hp, which debuted on the Astra G in 2003. All the details about the features of the Opel 1.7 CDTi engine in our video.
