Surprisingly, until 2008, the current champions of ‘traditional values’ in Russia did not care about the LGBTQ+ community. There were movies and music videos on TV with drag queens, and women performed explicit dances and kissed other women. It never occurred to anyone to take the children away from the screens, lest they accidentally become homosexuals.
