Damascus is an Extreme Demon
Damascus is an Extreme Demon that represents the history of the creating era in Geometry Dash. All 68 creators built their part based on the level they created that feels the most special to them. As Rob Buck said when he first started the project, "the aim is to hopefully produce a level that will almost act as a montage of scattered memories projected from the creating era."
Three years of work went into this level. It is genuinely impressive to see this level all come together and get finished despite all the major issues that came about, switch in hosts from Rob Buck to Dzeser, etc. Very well done to the team.
I'm really happy to have been able to verify this level. Ever since I saw the first layout of this level, I dreamed about verifying this. It's awesome to know that the last thing I have done in this game is to verify my favorite level in the game.
About the level itself, I would say the level can be split up into three sections. 0-40%, 40-60%, and 60-100%. 0-40% is most likely the hardest, and it takes a while to get consistent at it. 40-60% is also pretty tricky, but it gets pretty consistent. 60-100% is the easiest, but there are still some tricky spots. As for the difficulty, it is really difficult to say. My favorite part to play was definitely 32-41%. These parts are extremely satisfying to do. I thought it was a bit easier than Zodiac, but my playtesters told me it was a bit harder than Zodiac so I will go off their word.
I really enjoyed playing this level. Despite thinking I had pretty much quit after The Nautical, it is nice to come back one more time to verify this. This is definitely my favorite level in the game.
Also, happy 10 year anniversary of this game. I couldn't think of better timing to release this. This level perfectly represents the last 10 years of this game and what people could accomplish.
