This is how we installed my mom's emergency backup generator with a 325-gallon propane whole house system.
I finished installing my mom's emergency generator and everything is working now. We had some problems and learned a lot this time. If you plan to install your generator and hook it up to propane make sure you do your research. If you do not have a high-pressure regulator then measure and install the properly sized pipe from the tank to generator. We also needed to add some extra venting and exhaust to the storage shed to keep the heat down and well ventilated. Hopefully, you can get one and installed especially after seeing the possible Hurricane damages in Florida from Irma and Texas from Harvey I know someone personally that was without power for 7 days in Florida. A setup like this would have made life easier than lugging around extension cords and refilling the tan every 7-8 hours. With tornadoes and even heavy thunderstorms you just never know when you might find yourself without power.

My gear:
I use the Audio Technica AT2020 XLR because I wanted to be able to record music occasionally. If you do not need that then you could just go straight for the USB version and wouldn’t need the phantom power or extra cables. The external recorder is a must when using a cell phone and will help with audio sync when editing.
