Hey Friends, EMS (Ethyl methanesulfonate)
Hey Friends,
EMS (Ethyl methanesulfonate) is a chemical mutagen which induces random mutations in the genome. This creates numerous phenotypes and one can select beneficial ones and continue to breed with those. EMS is used for plants (e.g. Arabidopsis thaliana) and also invertebrates (C. elegans or Drosophila melanogaster).
